MY LOVE HATH / KISSED IN FIXINGTo kiss is an attempt to feel, to explore, to study. To have kissed is to have made contact, be pressed up against, having gone toward, and been tender. Fixing is trying to slow down, striving to become still enough to repair. To fix is to contemplate, to reckon with something broken while resisting the dangers of idealization. Allowing for disillusionment, blind spots, and contradictions, Fixing is to accept reality without abandoning it. “My love health Kissed / In Fixing” Is an artist book publication that mixes visual artworks with essays to contemplate the relentlessness of racialization in American culture since slavery. Assembled in constellations, repetition, and seriality, they look to make the troubled spaces appear.
